Oh that would just be SO heartbreaking. It’s a hard tradeoff between not pulling the first stitch of any color too tight and not leaving a huge gaping hole. Definitely a learning experience. Especially with Monkey Boy climbing on my head while I’m trying to knit.

I know the feeling about thinking you are doing them too loose but from experience I can tell you that if it is too tight it does HORRID things. The hat I made looked funky as all heck by the time I was done and all the blocking in the world was NOT going to fix it. I will say though that colorwork looks so pretty. I just got the Vouge Sock book yesterday half price so drooling over the patterns. LOL

I just put the sock on, over the heel and all. The stitches pull slightly, as they would any sock, but go back just fine once it’s over my heel and readjusted.

I will say this if you have NEVER done color work before make sure to not carry over the yarn too tightly or it WILL pucker and not in a way you want it to.
